A panel of experts will present an illustrated overview of YBI's history, ecological treasures, threats and what the future might hold. Lepidopterist Liam O'Brien, author of Butterflies of San Francisco, will lead us on a captivating walk to see the locally threatened, iridescent Green Hairstreak butterfly in its last remaining San Francisco habitat. Nature in the City's Director, Peter Brastow, will lead us on a lively inaugural community exploration of a continuous hiking trail across the city - from the native Coast Live Oak Woodlands of Golden Gate Park to Glen Canyon! At the end of the hike we invite you to join us for food and revelry in either Glen Park or the Mission District! More info here!
