Nature in the City and partners have been working together to develop a vision for a connected eco-corridor and trail through the Twin Peaks Bioregion, in the hilly heart of San Francisco, over the last two years. Start this fun day at the enchanting Tree Frog Treks headquarters right out of a story book, Frog Hollow, to eat snacks and meet all sorts of unique (and friendly) reptiles and amphibians. Onward into a rare remnant of the original Oak Woodlands of San Francisco, in search of scrub jays, ravens, towhees, rolly pollies and slender salamanders - led by dynamic and delightful Chris Giorni, aka Mr Science, or founder of Tree Frog Treks, rain or shine. Celebrate National Trails Day on Mt. Sutro!

Spend an extra special National Trails Day with the Mt. Sutro Stewards! There will be free trail maps, and prizes for the first 70 participants, commemorating 4 years of volunteerism with the Sutro Stewards, building and maintaining trails and habitat. Back by popular demand! Join Nature in the City's Founder & Director, Peter Brastow, for this a community exploration through the Twin Peaks Bioregion & Eco-Corridor! From the native coast live Oak Woodlands of Golden Gate Park, over Mt. Sutro, Twin Peaks and then down Glen Canyon, we will explore the great wilderness in the city, talking about species and habitats but also issues and controversies. 16th Annual San Francisco Butterfly Count

Novices and experts are welcome on this day long expedition into the city to catch a glimpse of as many butterflies as possible! Join local lepidopterist, author and artist of the Butterflies of San Francisco guide, and Nature in the City Steering Committee member, Liam O'Brien, for the 16th Annual SF Butterfly Count. Novices and experts are welcome! Everyone will begin the hunt at the Randall Museum - from there, you will be divided into teams. For more information email Liam O'Brien.

Looking to start up a network of backyard gardeners to help grow plants for the Green Hairstreak Corridor! If you are interested, or have pots, perlite, native plant seeds, soil, or funds to contribute, please contact iris@natureinthecity.org. We are hoping to meet for our first meeting in the next few weeks, and begin planting seeds!
